All 13 industries monitored by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) have recorded year-on-year increases in their turnover, according to the latest data.
After analysing business activity statements, the ABS found turnover increased by:
- Accommodation & food services2% in the year to January
- Mining3%
- Administrative & support services8%
- Arts & recreation services3%
- Transport, postal & warehousing1%
- Manufacturing9%
- Other services2%
- Construction2%
- Retail trade5%
- Professional, scientific & technical services8%
- Information media & telecommunications8%
- Electricity, gas, water & waste services1%
- Wholesale trade0%
The latest ABS jobs data was also encouraging, with the unemployment rate falling from 3.7% to 3.5% between January and February, and the number of people in work increasing by a net 48,100.
